Well, the future is already here. Mashable’s latest predictions speculate about what we might expect in the next 6 short years–2020. Brace yourself because the pace of change is accelerating and more disruption will certainly follow.
1- Virtual avatars and onscreen helpers will replace staff at service desks in hotels, shops, banks and other retail destinations.
2- At first computers filled rooms, we now carry powerful computers in our pockets and soon the size will become nearly invisible. Imagine a tiny crumb planted behind your ear….This means we can put intelligence in anything.
3- Everything will be in the cloud and major networking firms and IT vendors will be out of business. already trending
4- With the move to the cloud, disparate systems within the education and health arenas will finally be connected. All media will be social and mobile–nothing else will exist.
5- Mobility, wireless, and connectivity will continue to upend industries and radically alter society. Credit cards will be embedded in mobile, medical monitoring will be remote, driver monitoring for auto insurance coverage will be remote. already trending strongly
6- “Ultra-intelligent electronic agents”
7- Improved sound quality on wireless devices and improved sound recognition (Siri). Hallelujah.
8- Smartphones will become extinct in lieu of Digital Jewelry—already trending.
